Terms of service

Last updated September 28, 2026

A few ground rules for exploring the world with WhereTo.

Using WhereTo

These terms apply to the WhereTo game and website provided by Codemers. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using them. If you are not old enough to agree to these terms where you live, a parent or guardian must review them with you.

Your permission to play

You may use WhereTo for personal, non-commercial enjoyment in accordance with these terms and applicable law. Do not interfere with the app or website, attempt unauthorized access, distribute malicious code, or copy and redistribute the app without permission. These restrictions do not limit uses permitted by law or applicable open-source licenses.

The game and its content

WhereTo is a geography game for entertainment. Country names, borders, distances, and map data may be simplified or contain inaccuracies. They are not intended as authoritative geographic, political, or navigational guidance.

The app, website, and original content belong to Codemers or their respective licensors. Third-party software and data remain subject to their own licenses. You may share game results using the app’s sharing features.

Progress and availability

Progress is stored on your device. Deleting the app, resetting your device, or losing local data may remove your progress. We do not guarantee recovery of lost progress, uninterrupted availability, or compatibility with every future device or operating system. We may update, change, or discontinue features.

Privacy and third parties

Our privacy policy explains how information is handled. App stores, email applications, and services you choose when sharing results operate under their own terms. Your use of an app downloaded from an app store is also subject to that store’s applicable terms and license.

Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, WhereTo is provided “as is” and “as available,” without additional warranties. To that same extent, Codemers is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the game or website. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Stopping use and changes

You can stop using WhereTo at any time. We may update these terms and publish the revised version here with a new date. Where required, we will provide notice of material changes. Applicable mandatory consumer protections remain in effect.
